Will you use Hypnotherapy if I come for counselling?
No not without discussing with you whether you are happy to use it, also hypnosis is not suitable for everybody.
Does hypnosis work for everybody?
Most people are able to go into hypnosis, for some people it may take a little longer, but having experienced it once makes it much easier the next time. For some people hypnotherapy is not suitable and if I thought this was the case for you, I would suggest counselling only.
Will I keep control?
You are in control at all times; a hypnotherapist cannot make you do anything that goes against your moral and ethical code. It is not the same as stage hypnosis which is purely for the publics’ entertainment.
Are there any side effects?
In a few cases going so deeply into relaxation can cause what is known as an abreaction. This is where a memory or emotion that has been consciously forgotten resurfaces from the subconscious. As a qualified counsellor, I am well equipped to help you deal with this, should this situation arise.
What about confidentiality? Does my employer or doctor have to be informed?
Counselling and Hypnotherapy is a personal relationship between you and I. You do not need to inform anybody else unless you have a medical condition that may affect your treatment
