Counselling
Counselling and psychotherapy gives you the time and space to work through your thoughts and feelings.
The time is all about you and your needs.
At stressful times in our lives it can feel as if we can’t see the wood for the trees. This can make life seem so difficult and painful that we are unable to see the other options available to us.
Supportive family and friends can help, but this isn’t always an option for a variety of reasons.
Understanding why we think and behave in the ways we do is the key to changing our lives for the better.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a natural state that we all experience at times. It is a stage between sleep and awakening and it is in this state that we often have those “Eureka” moments. Maybe you have experienced this state after driving a familiar route, when you realise that you don’t remember the drive there?
Hypnotherapy uses this natural state in order to access those blocks and emotions that are so elusive when we are in full throttle. When we feel calm and relaxed we are able to see our problems and the solutions to them far more clearly.
I am an integrative counsellor using different styles and theories from a variety of disciplines.
These include Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic Counselling and Humanistic Counselling.
I offer short term therapy in addition to longer term pyschotherapy.
As an Associate Member of BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy (where practitioners undertake research) and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.
I carry full professional insurance and am a member of the Hypnotherapy Society and the Counselling Society.
